Artwork description / Biography

Dimitra Triantafyllopoulou lives and works in Greece, in the city of Patras.
Having come a long apprenticeship course and study, hard work and reflection on the manipulation of materials and artistic expression, with graduate studies in matters of culture and history of the arts, and with many years of professional experience in the fields of graphic design and design of spaces and objects, her works are both a unique personal artistic expression and a deposit of soul.
Her works are a type of ’spontaneous writing’ with emphasis on gesture, rhythm of colors and shapes. This has helped her to emerge creations through interactions and relationships between selected from the inexperience of data hiding in a white surface. Her compositions tend to indeterminate constantly a fluid undefined movement in order to show hidden relationships and harmonies to view positions and oppositions, actions, sensations or emotions, while leaving open the paintings limits for multiple or different approaches and vision. Each different material employed in her creations are to demonstrate different ways of expression.
This picture evokes a spirituality and inwardness, intellectual uplift areas of peace and tranquility, but always within their creeping unexplored places, impossible to capture collective consciences and where everyone is invited to draw his personal revelations. A spirituality that requires knowledge, a knowledge that requires spirituality, a dichotomy of matter and spirit, which are interrelated. The material is transparent like a spirit and spirit acquires physicality by density or sparsity of color, the material quality and robustness of the drawings which are both fluid and undefined.
This is a secret world that does not cry out but it is made by atmospheric performance.
