INTERFERENCE
Today almost all images are digitalized. A digital image is a numeric representation of a two-dimensional image.
An interference shows us how those images are produced. An interference is the visualisation of how digital images are produced. The interference disturbs our illusion of reality making us aware of the fact that we are just looking at tiny colored squares.
There is an aesthetic fascination about those corrupted images, that are not created by a human being but by the malfunction of a machine.
The paintings of the series ”interference” are about reflecting upon images – analog and digital – transferred into painting.
