“Sexbombâ•” is part of the series “What Do With the Old Shoe?” I started working on shoes in 2011.

For my latest shoe “Sexbombâ•” I used Silicone Boob Breasts which are available in several gift shops. I fixed the breasts on a shoe and covered the inside with a pink fabric which I formed like a vulva. On the one hand it`s a kind of critism of sexism and on the other hand it`s a pleading for the freedom of sex in art. A topic that is controversially discussed in several states worldwide like e.g. in the USA or Russia.

The intended mise-en-scène has been an important component of my art work. Having started with arranged portraits, for the last years I have focused on still lifes and turned to a surrealistic way of working. I love to stroll around and see, perceive, and to receive and absorb. I then just need to assemble the pictures and thoughts of the seen, my conscious and unconscious to create a new vision and a new way to see, as Georg Christoph Lichtenberg said, â•ıHe, who has eyes to see, sees everything in everything.╡

Research as well as the study of particular topics and recyling play important roles in the artistic realization: to deal with a topic - to eviscerate, to mangle, and to transform - to achieve a new insight.
