Descrizione Opera / Biografia
From an early age, until I was eight years old, it was to live in a House, with an outhouse until a long wall, and a narrow,
dark passage that I had to go through before I came out to the light, and the streets, a creepy experience.
When it comes to the House, it is the light gable-end wall which turned out onto the street, that has got stuck in my memory.
Since 1991, the house has been a central motif in my works. I use the house as a form and as a metaphor of the human being and life in general.
The houses are sometimes upright, alone, strong and untouchable, fragile and vulnerable.
The House has been a key visual element of my images, and with my first house exhibition displayed in Istanbul in 1991,
The meeting between two cities, an over 25 year long House project started.
