Descrizione Opera / Biografia

I am a contemporary self taught artist based in Nagpur , India. Primary style of my paintings is expressionism. I use abstract angular shapes having sharp edges and confluence among them. I have forged a distinctive visual language through radical experimentation with materials and techniques in my paintings. There are contrast and enigmatic forms of portraits in which I bring together figurative and abstract elements . I find my inspiration from life and reflect these experiences to the universal social behavior. Color scheme used in my paintings are black, white and their combination as they together represent reliability , dignity and they come out to be calming , stable and elegant. White color in my painting interprets pure form of perfection, innocence , wholeness , and completion. While the black interprets some hidden and secretive message creating an air of mystery.
The common theme of my creation is Rencontre which reflects a combat of forces or individuals. My artworks portray dissolution of women as it shows the interlocking complex of lower status and limited opportunities of women as compared with men in spheres of law, education, economy and social power. The social message sent through my paintings is that ”The combat of a woman for eradicating the gap between the rights of men and women about their real place in the world. ”
The artwork portrays the woman being dominated by being held in a sag of suppression , sorrows , suffering, inequality and inferiority. The hand which holds her denies her urge to break these shackles where she feels bonded with undue pressure from all parts of the society. She wants to set herself free from the persisting inequality and being undervalued.
