Premio Combat Prize

Born in Buenos Aires (1958), I spent my youth in Argentina, Germany and finally the Netherlands. By traveling a lot in my youth and came early in contact with various cultures, I have learnt to appreciate their art. My inspiration comes from all the experiences I have gathered during my travels. Around my fifteenth I started to get serious about photography and to document all my impressions.
After my studies at the Foto Academy and the Free Art Academy, I intensified my knowledge in the field of digital image processing. By editing my photo’s digitally, I give my creations an extra dimension.
The camera is an extension of my eye. The geometry in a photo, that is to say, that everything is in the right place when taking the photo, to me means the challenge and the joy that I experience when taking the pictures. Everything else comes from the subconscious.
Why press the button now?
It is often a quick impulse, suddenly the right moment is there, in a reflex I react on the motive and record the moment on a photo.
With the theme’s I record I try to document emotions by following the notion of the golden mean and paying attention to strict balance between shapes and colors.
With the subjects I photograph I hope to inspire the viewers.
