Premio Combat Prize

€"Bark and Juice" is one of my present hybrids of various gestural methods I am experimenting with. I find that gestures are able , through shape, position, direction and texture,  to express many different temperaments and content. In presented painting I wanted gestures to establish the contrast between the old, rugged, tectonic and rigid and the new, fluid, fresh and optimistic. The painting is telling a double story of a tree in spring, when the new juice starts flowing through it, envigorating it with new life and of the author, articulating an impact of emotions from a certain event.

Peter Gaber was born in 1980, soon after started drawing . In 2009 he attained the title Master of fine arts from painting on the Academy of fine arts and design in Ljubljana. Presently he lives and paints in his hometown, Medvode.
