Premio Combat Prize

Less a creator than a conduit, conversing with my materials allows me to end with these tangible tales. The most perplexing and astounding realities come forth after such conversations with seemingly unrelated objects, be it a found piece of plastic from the street, an image of a now-demolished building etched into the brain or an overheard phrase from a passing stranger on the train. Created with the passion of an all-too-excited 1st-grader, my works are imbued with a hyper-specificity which need not be trusted on their exact details, but rather, on the feelings they bring forth. Like a foreign grandmother’s valediction, you should be left uncertain of exactly what is being said, but take comfort in the warmth provided.
