About the painting:The inspiration of the painting “GCS01E03 Seesaw” is reaction from increasing cases of polices attack American African citizens as well as other imaginations in past year in United States. It is hard to believe that the power abuse from police towards Non-White people is still happening today. I am wondering What Martin Luther King would say if he still is alive. The painting Seesaw is a dark humor of the unbalanced social rights and racy issues, which is also an reflection of false democracy.Xi Zhang’s Bio:Xi Zhang, was born in 1984 in China and live and work in Milwaukee and Denver, U.S.Zhang’s work had notable shows including Song Zhuang Multimedia Art Exhibition at Song Zhuang Art Museum in Beijing (2006) URRA in Argentina (Buenos Aires 2012) Ornaments at White House (2012) and Biennale of America in U.S. (2013).
