WHO CARES (!?)
The first skin is the skin that surrounds our body. Clothing are usually understood as the second skin. The house, which stands for the ”third skin”, is partially clothed with dishcloths and silouettes of work aprons. This house is partly closed, partly open - openings that show that the house is not a static system.
Who cares (!?) Embodies an ancient plot that corresponds to the history of capitalism and as an invitation to rethink, as a question - or as a fact? - still up to date:
”Most unpaid work in the household, care work and motherhood are constitutive of a capitalist mode of production, but are naturalized and depoliticized as an expression of femininity. In transnational capitalism, migrant women are increasingly taking over these low-paid home and care services. ” Silvia Federici - Making the Invisible Visible https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XdtXY_8Eos
