The View After The Questions
It is a place where so many questions exist side by side with so many answers. It is a place where everything is connected and where all global issues exist. It is also a place of hope.
My practice is influenced by my experiences of travel and the imagery that I encounter. I have spent time in Italy, Nigeria, France, the Scottish Islands, Germany and America, immersing myself in different cultures and collecting a variety of imagery to use in my work. I enjoy researching and visualising the differences between countries both historically and culturally. My ideas come from the places I visit. My experiences, and the images that I collect from travelling, impact on my next project. I source information from my life experience, television documentaries, current affairs and everyday life in general.
I started this project with different topics and questions awaiting answers. When I started this project, I felt like I was about to start writing a movie script or a short story. I worked directly onto the lino block, collaging images and ideas to tell a story and make a statement.
