Italy is visited by more than 50 million of tourists each year, making it one of the most visited countries in the world. People travel from every part of the globe to experience the historical and artistic beauty of the ”BelPaese”.
#Colosseo is part of a photographic project which aims to explore the mass tourism phenomenon in some iconic Italian art cities. This endless and ever-changing flow of passers, changes the morphology of these places, posing questions about their meaning and function in our society. Through a digital processing technique, these image shows the merging process of architectural and historical identity, with the social dynamics of the global tourism.
