ARTWORK DESCRIPTION:
A collaboration occurred between artists in Ithaca New York and Beijing China on the premise of sharing traditional and new technological processes to further Fine Art making. Elisabeth Meyer worked with the guidance of master printers in Beijing studios to produce a body of works. Masking Principles I (Alice) is one of a suite of six woodcuts that employ a visual narrative, derived from collaged Durer imagery, to address a cyclical history of cultural upheaval.
