Grace Sippy is an independent artist and educator living in the American Midwest. She grew up in Swisher, IA and earned her BFA in Printmaking with Honors, at the University of Iowa. She earned her MFA in Printmaking at the University of Alberta. Grace currently teaches printmaking, book binding and drawing at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point as Assistant Professor.
As a printmaker she has exhibited numerous times in solo, duo, group, and juried exhibitions across the United States and as well as internationally, showing in Canada, Ireland, Scotland, Slovakia, Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Taiwan, Japan and China. Grace has won awards in the US, China, Belgium and Japan and has work in collections around the world. Her interests in print media comprise of traditional, photomechanical, and digital methods to create a complex visual language. Her work explores the hidden or underlying parts of the human psyche, seeking how it affects our mind, body, and our own interpretations of identity.
