Descrizione Opera / Biografia

Kacper Bozek was born in 1974 in Krakow. He graduated from Print Faculty of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow presenting thesis created in copperplate and lithography workshops under supervision of prof. Stanislaw Wejman. Since 2011 he has been working there as a Professor’s assistant.
In November 2013 he received Ph.D. based on his dissertation inspired by life of Jan Potocki and his novel Manuscript found in Saragossa. He presented his works on around 30 solo shows in Poland and abroad. He has also participated in many group exhibitions and was awarded with several prizes such as Grand Prix in Print of the Year 2002 in Krakow, scholarship of the City of Krakow 2003 (for creative professions) or second prize in Premio Leonardo Sciascia amateur d’estampes (7th Edition in 2013) in Italy. He is mostly involved in working with intaglio techniques, especially etching and aquatint.
One of his main inspirations is literature. He completed two portfolios of prints based on Master and Margarita (12 Prints) and Manuscript_ Found in Saragossa (13 prints).
”The main feature linking all my prints is the story. A multi-layered story, with neither the beginning nor the end is an invitation to participate, to speculate, to interpret, to discover new meanings.”
