Descrizione Opera / Biografia
In The system of objects, Baudrillard said that everything old has a special psychological character, has no functionality or is a decorative element, if not that it has a specific significant value: it means time. Elision of time. Myth of origin. It also said that psychologically, the old takes us to a regression in time, to identify its ancestry with our birth, our childhood, with the beginning of our times, and in short, with the birth of our species. It is what is determined as ”myth of the origin.” This regression in time is experienced in greater depth when the object of which we speak belongs to a more remote time, to get closer to the time in which the ”origin” occurs. approximates more to the ”truth”, to nature or even to absolute precedence to nature.
Lucía Ares´work is immersed in anthropology, sociology and ultimately, those subjects that seek to understand and deepen the behavior of our species. In her work there is a special value for the passage of time and for the undefined, uncertain landscapes, perhaps also for that power of regression and abstraction of the contemporary world. In these uncertain landscapes there is a nostalgia for the origins, an uncertainty, a direct link with our ancestors, an involution towards our own origin, a search for our balance.
Lucía Ares shows an interest in painting and drawing since she was a child and begins to receive private lessons at 8 years old.
She moved to Madrid, graduating in Fine Arts at the Complutense University, and began to exhibit individually and collectively.
