Le travail plastique de Philippe BRUNETEAU s’inscrit dans le champ de la sculpture et offre au spectateur plusieurs approches intéressantes, voire dérangeantes. La récurrence de certains thèmes, le choix des matériaux, la poésie ludique et les cris de colère font de ce travail un univers cohérent dont les paradoxes apparents tendent à susciter interrogations et dialogue. Le hasard est équilibré par la maîtrise des matériaux et les effets obtenus, la poésie allège le message et les jeux de mots sont intégrés aux formes. Plutôt que sculpteur au sens traditionnel du terme, Philippe BRUNETEAU pourrait se définir comme volumiste.
The artwork of Philippe Bruneteau frequently takes the form of sculpture which offers the viewer varied and sometimes disturbing points of view.
The recurring nature of certain subjects, the choice of materials, the playful poetry and even the cries of rage come together to create one unified and coherent universe. The obvious paradoxes have a tendency to arouse introspection and debate.
Apparent randomness is balanced by a mastery of the raw materials and their expression. Poetry brings a carefree touch, with wordplay incorporated directly into the shapes.
Rather than sculptor in the traditional sense of the term, Philippe BRUNETEAU could define himself as a spatial practitioner.
