OVERLOAD is an experimental video art, which consists in reloading fruits and vegetables imported from Latin America, through a USB adapter. The charge is an installation of proteins, qualities and nutrients, ending in an updating of current political, social, economic, religious and cultural themes. The video exposes the migratory problem, the models of identity and freedom of choice in a society governed by social conventions and consumption habits.
OVERLOAD manipulates and alters the life-time of things, creating an artificiality of the natural.
BIO
Rafael Triana is a multidisciplinary artist. His work combines performance, video art and installation. He was born in 1988 in Cuba. After graduating from the School of Fine Arts in Havana (ISA) where he obtained the Gold Diploma in Scenic Design, he moved to Paris in 2015. It is in the field of video art that Rafael Triana has multiplied exhibitions in Latin America. His videos are also exhibited in Europe during the Annecy International Festival 2018 (France) and in Spain on the occasion of the MADATAC Festival in Madrid and the URBAN Barcelona Gallery that represents him.
