In his paintings, drawings and prints, Robert Webster tries to achieve a synthesis both of form and content and of abstract value and iconography. His work is a reorientation of figuration without falling into epigonism. The tranformation of the perceived plays a major role. Amazement about life and death is one of the guiding principles of his work.
