About the artwork: Initiation was a sacred ritual in human tribes in order to train young adults to become a full member of the group. In our current culture, each individual should build their own role in society by releasing and gaining new social connections. This is how we create our social mask that represents our function in the community.About Veronqa: The artist was born (1990) in Szeged (HUN) and is currently living and working in Budapest. She studied at University of Pecs (HUN) and took place at an exchange program at Nazareth College (Rochester, NY) for a semester. She exhibited in group exhibitions in London (GB), Chicago (USA), Stockholm (SWE) and Saint Petersburg (RU). She is a video artist, but she creates video installations as well because of her university studies as a sculptor. She is interested in conceptual topics and her main interests are the roots of religions and art. Her intention is to integrate her studies into digital art techniques.
