Artwork description / Biography

“Tongue Ball” has an initial glittery ethereal suspended beauty which quickly reinvents itself into scientific humor as the viewer realizes those are taste buds springing off the many tongues. It is sensory exploration personified and magnified, an extreme tasting of the environment around it. Much of my work explores the senses, the method with which we as humans interact with the world around us, the human-nature interface that we encounter with each of our five senses. The piece is suspended from above, its bright white silicone tongues almost sterile, the antique glass millinery stamen glistening and seductive, drawing the viewer in closer... for a taste.
