Descrizione Opera / Biografia
Bodyscape is a graphic that, unfortunately, was ahead of the future. A work inspired by Italian art, and in fact a work of art by the master Caravaggio called La Deposizione (1602-1604) - an artist who from my teenage years was a model for me to follow. In order to illustrate the unimaginable sadness and loss of a loved one, I used the theme of ”putting to the grave” with my graphic language. However, it was only in 2020 that I understood what it means to see the unimaginable. On March 19, 2020, a poignant report circulated around the world from Bergamo (Lombardy), where a column of military vehicles transported the bodies of those who died due to Covid-19. It was a huge blow, Italy is the cradle of European culture. The incredible energy of this society, the love and joy that they shared with the whole world have been hit by a huge tragedy. A tragedy that hit everyone around the world. I would like my work to be a kind of tribute to the cultural heritage of Italy and, above all, to all those who lost their loved ones during the pandemic.
