Descrizione Opera
Biografia
A female artist with a highly personal style, Lisha Liang. She was born in Zhejiang, China, in 1994 and is currently studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy. With love for art, she was introduced to and studied painting from a very young age. With her heart for art, she firmly chose fine art (commercial illustration) at university, and after four years of study, she graduated from Zhejiang Sci-Tech University in 2017. In the same year, she went to Florence for a semester of ”arts abroad study,” a Tongji University project, starting a new journey to pursue art. She studied various courses at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, the University of Florence, and the Polimoda Academy, such as etching, sculpture, visual communication of the creative process, and contemporary fashion. This period of study has resulted in a diverse range of expressions in her later works of art. Her work encompasses performance, installation, sculpture, photography, painting, and more. The heterogeneous language of art gives life an intimate and inner life. When she finished her course in Florence, she returned to China, and she worked for six months as an assistant to the curator in the Taizhou Museum of Contemporary Art in Zhejiang. In this role, she gained a deeper understanding of exhibition design, the art market, and the museum’s operation and management. In 2018, after her second visit to Florence, she participated in a workshop of the studio azzurro, in which she made videos and montages on the memory of the artisans of Seravezza, finally her works were installed in the Medici museum of Seravezza. This made her decide to link people’s public living space with people’s feelings through art in the future, so as to promote people’s better social life through art.
Her research direction is to address social issues and use her artwork to reflect the inequality of society. Duchamp once said: ”Although the artist does exactly what he wants, there is something in it that is completely unrelated to his original intention, something that is seized upon by society - if he is lucky. Due to the frequency of various social issues concerning women in recent years, she has gradually shifted her research focus to the topic of sex education and domestic violence. Through her feminine perspective and sensibility, she brings deeper awareness and analysis of such issues’ existence and negative effects.
Lisha Liang has exhibited her work in several exhibitions and group shows in China and Italy, including The body language 2021, Venice Italy(2021.03); Contemporary Venice, Venice Italy 2021(2021.02); China Competition on Virtual Reality - CCVR 2020 won the second prize(2020.09); The first exhibition on artistic dialogue, Suzhou Hangzhou(2019.09); Eighthwonder 2019 ’(a)muse’ summer exhibition, Bath UK(2019.08); ”Vuoi ricodarmi, Ricordi” Sino-Italian artist art exhibition organized by Centro Sino Italian of Design, Florence Italy(2019.07); The contemporary art exhibition ”Nature’s destiny in nature”, Jiaxing China(2019.05); ”2018 Great Art Times” The national original illustration design competition and the competition exhibition won the creative award and the award of excellence, Tianjin China(2018.12); China Art Education Exhibition, Shandong China(2018.10); Exhibition ”Wuweibuzhi” 2018 Shangshang International Small and Micro Works Exhibition, Beijing China(2018.09); ”Xiling.
