Descrizione Opera / Biografia
All my life I have been passionated about painting.
Born close to Nuremberg I grew up in the city of Albrecht Duerer and have always been under the spell of this fascinating artist. To improve and refine my techniques I studied Fine Arts at the Academy of Faber-Castell from 2014 to 2018. My work is influenced by ’Informal Art’, especially by Emil Schumacher, Anselm Kiefer, Antoni Tapies, Alberto Burri and last not least by Jackson Pollock and Franz Kline.
In 2019 I exhibited in Vienna, in 2020 in Hamburg, Salzburg and Venice.
With my paintings I want to express a passionated joy about the beauty of life. But I also would like to draw peoples’ attention on current topics and issues, I want to make aware of the problems of our time like environmental destruction and of course COVID-19., what rules our lifes for over a year.
Also this work is inspired by COVID-19. Will lockdown ever end? How does it feel without your family and friends? Nevertheless I have contact to many people because I also work as a doctor and I see and feel their pain every day. I lost patients who died. I know people who lost their business and their money. I live in the midst of this horror...
If you ask for a theme of my work, it’s this sentence by Pablo Picasso:
’Painting is not done to decorate apartments. It is an instrument of war’ - Theories of Modern Art, 1945
