The project of this canvas comes from the need to communicate my micro-world as it is reflected in the macro-one. The onlooker’s ego finds itself in front of an incomplete canvas where the phrase “parlami” (“talk to me”) is fading. This dissolve has been created so that the viewer could fill it with those words they never said, never materialized, never pronounced, never highlighted - maybe to their love gone bad, to their father, mother, a friend, a brother - to utter that phrase that they have never been able to pronounce due to the imperfection of the present moment, to life-barriers, to lack of interconnection in today’s hyper-connection. The work is a therapy-tool-praise to get oneself free from a burden as it has never been done before (if not now, when?). Have the courage to face your fears; let all out and fill yourself back with right, life, present, matter, details and meaning.
The work is part of my production as a graphic designer and an artist. It is part of a journey that began years ago.
Showing it at the Premio Combat is like a declaration of intent, some strong will to make the viewers interact and make them become the work itself, in a present world that seems to have totally forgotten the wonder of mankind.
The corollary to all this is simple: “Talking is the answer to all questions”.
