I am a queer comic artist incorporating vintage horror into my magic realism worlds. My work illuminates the line between macabre themes and erotic subtext—spurring a dialogue in which difficult topics in art connect vulnerable communities with shared social resources. My digital medium is characterized by linear style to provide contemporary graphic novel effects that makes one feel what my characters feel. I am in the ongoing creation of my horror comic, Little Death, which is a story about a young trans man named Ellery who is tasked with putting an end to the cycle of abuse he shares with his lover and torturer, an undead being named Callisto. I engage my digital comic practice, exploring the unsafe terrain of the self, sexuality, and familial belonging, as an active response to risks which are present in life that have to be acknowledged to be changed.
