‘Pretty monsters’ evoke an inner world that has been created since the start of the pandemic when Tamara became obsessed about the female psyche and this visual universe reminiscent of something between fantasy and reality.
Pavlovic is an Australian multidisciplinary artist, based in Sydney, with an art practice across painting, photography and video performance although concentrating predominately on working with mixed media on paper for the last two years. Pavlovic’s interest lays in female identity and the body and they have been the starting point of her works. The themes of belonging and memories are an ongoing project in Tamara’s practice.
Originally from Belgrade, Serbia where she grew up, Tamara has received the Master of Art at UNSW Art & Design, Sydney in 2019 and has been participating in group and solo exhibitions and art awards internationally. In 2020 Pavlovic was awarded the Winner of Works on Paper Prize from Blackstone Gallery, Newcastle.
