Artwork description / Biography

For several years I have been dealing with the topic of increasing negative developments within our society, including the series ”My home is my castle”.
The growing demarcation from each other is noticeable on many levels, discussions, political disputes, dealing with crises and stresses, not least due to the developments of the past three years (Covid19 pandemic, Ukraine war...).
My approach is not to show any ”meta” currents, but rather to examine the developments in a small-cell and strongly related to everyday life and to make splits and breaks visible where they affect a very manageable but nevertheless very important area, one’s home. Houses are shown with partially marginal changes by omitting the familiar and thus changing the perspective.
Questions in this context are:
• How far can or must one go to protect oneself from others?
• What are you willing to do to be yourself?
• How big is the risk that you take for this?
• How does the conflict develop between the attempt to ward off the ”outside” and the associated restrictions on the ”inside”?
• How does the view of the everyday object ”house” change when details such as windows and doors are lost?

The series currently consists of 6 photographs and was compiled in 2022. The works are presented in the format 120 x 80 cm

From 2009 he turned to artistic and exhibition photography with various acceptances and exhibitions as part of art photography awards (Hoepfner Foundation third prizewinner, PX3 Paris Gold Medal, finalist YICCA Art Prize, finalist Arte Laguna Prize) and with his own projects and exhibitions.
