The linocut entitled ”Watch Your Step _03” is a part of the ”Motherhood” series, which was created as a response to the changes taking place in the artist’s life. The presence of children at home creates chaos and an element of surprise when you walk down the hall in the evening and come across Lego bricks.
Agata Gertchen was born in Rawicz (Poland). She graduated with an MA in Graphic Arts and Graphic Design from the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Artand Design in Wroclaw, Poland. In 2016 she obtained a PhD degree. Currently she is employed at the positon of an Assistant Professor in the Studio of Intaglio Printng (the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw, Poland). Her favorite techniques are linocut, mezzotnt and drawing.
She has presented her works at over ninety exhibitions in Poland and ninety abroad (United States, Russia, Australia, Canada, Sweden, France, Germany, South Korea, Japan, Serbia, Belgium, Russia, Slovakia, China, Macedonia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Latvia, India, Iran, Spain, Italy, Romania, Scotland). She presented twenty individual exhibitions.
