Il titolo prende spunto dall’aspetto fisico dell’orecchio per poi trasformarlo in un quadro finale frammentato a forma di ´labirinto´, composto da diverse immagini sovrapposte, concepite come strati e realizzate con specifiche piegature della tela. Le immagini sottostanti, anche se appena visibili, insieme all’immagine dell’orecchio sovrastante, costituiscono un tentativo dell’artista di indagare la sfera sessuale.

Bekim Hasaj è un artista multidisciplinare che lavora e vive in Ostrobotnia, Finlandia. Hasaj ha conseguito una laurea triennale in Arti Visive presso l’Accademia di Belle arti di Brera, a Milano.
Negli ultimi anni ha partecipato a iniziative culturali, progetti artistici, mostre e collaborato con diversi colleghi e organizzazioni, sia a livello nazionale che internazionale.
Nel 2022, Hasaj ha preso parte a un programma di residenza curato da Artists’ Residecy Swap e dal Finnish Institute in the UK+Ireland. La mostra più recente è stata ”Dripping Cavities” presso Vaasa Art Gallery, in collaborazione con Vaasa City Museums, conclusasi nel gennaio 2024.
Nel 2023, l’artista ha anche completato il murale ”Awake”, lavoro pilota per un progetto a lungo termine di sviluppo dell’arte pubblica nelle zone rurali. Hasaj è co-fondatore di Black Box Genesis, board member dell’associazione culturale Globe Art Point e artista membro della Finnish Painters’ Union.
Nel 2023 è stato tra i 10 finalisti della terza edizione di Exibart Prize e anche per il premio Yicca 23/24.

The title takes its cue from the physical appearance of the ear and then transforms it into a final fragmented ´labyrinth-like´ painting composed of several overlapping images, conceived as layers and made with specific folds of the canvas. The underlying images, although barely visible, together with the image of the ear above, constitute an attempt by the artist to investigate the sexual sphere.

Bekim Hasaj is a multidisciplinary artist based in Ostrobothnia, Finland. Hasaj holds a bachelor’s degree in visual arts from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, Milan.
In recent years, he has participated in cultural initiatives, art projects, exhibitions, and collaborated with various colleagues and organizations, both nationally and internationally.
In 2022, Hasaj took part in a residency program curated by Artists’ Residecy Swap and the Finnish Institute in the UK+Ireland. The most recent exhibition was ”Dripping Cavities” at Vaasa Art Gallery, in collaboration with Vaasa City Museums, which concluded in January 2024. In 2023, the artist also completed the mural ”Awake,” a pilot work for a long-term project to develop public art in rural areas. Hasaj is co-founder of Black Box Genesis, a board member of the Globe Art Point cultural association and an artist member of the Finnish Painters’ Union.
In 2023 he was among the 10 finalists for the third Exibart Prize, and also for the Yicca Prize 23/24.
