Artwork description / Biography

A selection of gouache paintings on cork canvas were cut up into parts and sewn back together to create one final piece that is assembled in two sections, a top section and a bottom section.
The piece is inspired by extensive research on Eastern Religion and Philosophy. It shows a figure wearing a crafted mask of a deer in a repelling stance with the upward gaze of Rahu, an Indian deity surrounded by two fenghuangs.
