Artwork description / Biography

An abstract interpretation of the mythological character Argus Panoptes (’All-seeing’), the giant with 100 eyes on his body.
Argus was a servant of the goddess Hera and made an excellent watchman over Io (Hera’s priestess) because he would never fall asleep.
Eventually, he was slain by Hermes and his eyes were transferred by Hera to the tail of the peacock.
The work is at the same time an exploration of insomnia.

Note: The artwork can also be displayed retro-illuminated with a particular impact on low light environments.
