Artwork description / Biography
The artwork explores the idea that true creativity emerges from inner silence and tranquility. It reflects a moment of deep introspection and calm, where the absence of distractions allows the purest form of creative energy to flow.
My works are the result of my own form of meditation. I move the pencil across the paper, trying to silence judgment, letting go of all thoughts and knowledge about painting and drawing. It’s a search for myself, my identity, my own lines and shapes. Sometimes images emerge from this. Sometimes, nothing does. But what matters is not the result, but the process. In these moments, I try to let go of all rules, limits, and expectations. For me, it’s a pure creative flow. It’s a sense of freedom.
Some of the images I transfer onto watercolor paper, adding structure and trying to organize the composition, guided by my own sense of beauty. The final pencil sketch always looks a bit different from the doodle in the sketchbook — it seems to take on a more mature character.
I especially enjoy adding color. I love the transparency of watercolor and how the colors blend. That moment often feels like the piece is complete. But if I feel the need for a sense of closure, I draw over the paint with a liner, adding structure and direction to the flow of color, as well as interesting details that give the artwork a more defined character.
