Gene Echoes: Architecture of the Becoming
In Gene Echoes, I begin with my own sculptural forms — those that carry the traces of touch, time, and process. I don’t reproduce them on canvas; I let them pass through another phase of transformation. The objects become image, and the image begins to speak the language of mutation, of transition, of unstable identity.
It’s a speculative vision — suspended between memory and future biology. A threshold. A liminal zone. The figures here are not fixed: they are in movement, in dissolution, in replication. Some appear to vanish; others are only just forming. Their presence is translucent, caught between embryonic and ghostlike states, organic and programmable.
This landscape has no architecture as we used to know it. It is post-biological. What constitutes us is no longer solid — but generative systems, genetic flows, and ephemeral architectures of consciousness. The stone-like terrain grounding the bodies seems to be the final imprint of what once was human. But even that is eroding.
Gene Echoes is not merely a painting — it’s a meditation on becoming. It suggests that identity is not given, but unfolding. That the body is not a form, but an archive: shifting, interpretive, open. The gene as architecture. The body as speculative prototype.
My work — sculptural, sonic, ephemeral — always returns to the same thread: how perception, memory, and invisible systems transform. I use organic materials, modular objects, and immersive environments to build spaces and situations that are not permanent, but deeply sensorial and emotionally charged.
