Descrizione Opera / Biografia

The work “Thou shalt not commit adultery” is made in the Light Painting technique and is part of a larger project of 11 abstract pictures entitled “The Ten Commandments”, which shows the timelessness of the laws given to us by the Higher Being and contained in the Decalogue.
These are the only laws that, according to the Bible, come directly from God. However, I want to show their universality and philosophical aspect that applies to every person. All works refer to the biggest current problems, consumerism and waste production, half-truths that harm the environment and support materialism. The same laws were relevant 3,000 years ago, but they offer us ready-made solutions for today. According to the Bible, part of man is the ”Breath of God”.
This means that these laws symbolize the “Covenant” of the material domain with the spiritual, we gave ourselves. And thanks to this, they become an exceptionally strong motivation for change. They are undoubtedly an agreement that is to protect us, but at the same time push us to develop. The original laws have a chance to reach everyone in us, because they are the beginning of our morality and philosophy, and thus will have a real impact on the environment around us. The project contains 11 commandments. The last one has been added since January 27, 2020 by Marian Turski, a Polish Jew who survived the Auschwitz concentration camp.
Photos created in this way are like paintings, but instead of a canvas, a camera matrix was used. Artists use coloured light in the same way a painter uses the paints. Paint brushes have been replaced with various light sources. The light created in this way gives much greater possibilities for creation.
Images painted in this way on the camera matrix are unique and unique thanks to the Quantum Nature of Light. Additionally, a special type of recording makes it impossible to correct them or copy them. The photograph is so unique and expressive in its way of creation that the author himself is unable to make a copy of the photo. Therefore, each photo is an independent artistic entity.
The combination of digital photography and the painting method of creating each piece allows for a completely new approach to photography and its possibilities with painting, creating a connection between these techniques, while eliminating the disadvantages of both of these art techniques.
