What do we who live today rely on when we remember something? If it is “something” that is distant from our own bodies, then the “landscape” that we thought we had experienced may no longer be distant from us. In this work, the “landscape” that can no longer be recalled, i.e., cannot be known, is likened to a “dinosaur” that existed but whose appearance can never be confirmed.
Acrylic paint is applied repeatedly to the resin dinosaur figure to distort its original shape, and the surface is finished with polarizing paint.
To paint is to cover something. This assemblage of figures is a record of “landscapes” that we seem to know but do not know and cannot confirm.
