Based on the warning "Become who you are" (Pindaro), the Barbara Raimondo's photographs are a continuous self-research and self-understanding through the others until the catharsis, necessary for the development of personality with self-recognition, is achieved.
The transformation process and the time are essential variables for the acquisition of its own temporary individuality, which is thwarted by the psychological projection of someone else, the conformism and the spirit of survival.
Sorrow's work consists of twelve photographs, divided in three groups, all produced from the same inner viewpoint.
BR placed the focus at a fixed pain, coming from the lost of her family's member, and returned many times to record the same grief. She considered the sorrow as variable quantity of which productivity could achieve many different intensity and shapes. BR's work is focused on differences between them. The result is significantly different. The same inner viewpoint had been influenced with time and by the changing emotional conditions. The three groups are composed by four photographs each and represent three stages: Acute - Acceptance - Reminiscence.
Sorrow III and Sorrow IV symbolise the Acceptance. The pain becomes the lover, the fellow traveller to who come back home.

2012 Her work Nowhere IV is being exhibited at Deutsche Bank London at 23
Great Winchester Street (7th February 2012 - 30th April 2012) in private view event.
Two works were submitted for Summer Exhibition 2012 at Royal Academy, London.
