With a stripped-down approach to photorealism, drawings explore the power dynamic between an artist and their artwork. Approach to „microexpressions” highlights an important artistic dichotomy: the creative nurturing of a developing work, and the sometimes cruel need to strip back and edit. The key to this project is the use of negative space, subtlety, and restraint. By focusing on fragments of a completed work, I am displaying a curatorial eye for the most evocative parts of drawings, while also allowing myself to utilize numerous stylistic gestures in a single piece.
Biography:
Born in 1987 in Wrocław, Poland. Graduated in 2011 from Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, Master Degree studies in Graphic Arts, Graphic Design and Drawing.
