Artist Statement: My art is characterised by tensions, between colours and textures, symbols of beauty and disharmonic presentations, the shown and the hidden, aesthetic layers and loaded emotional states. I find myself attracted to imperfection. I keep checking how much imperfection can the eye tolerate and can the mind be comfortable with. A certain degree of impreciseness can be inconvenient to the eye but is more comfortable in the belly. Something insists on creating imperfection and tolerating it. And I find myself peeling and scratching, shaping the painting into a more tolerable, partial being, perhaps more human.
Artist Biography: I was born in the US and grew up mainly in Israel where I now live with my husband and three children. My background is in neuropsychology (PhD) and dance. My work today involves creating through painting as well as through movement and dance. Music is a central part of my life, and an inspiration for my creative work. My art has been shown in exhibitions in Israel and worldwide.
