Descrizione Opera / Biografia

//Calchas (Calcante) mitico aruspice e indovino greco sta compiendo una divinazione ponendo sotto esame il fegato di un animale, allo scopo di ottenere risposte soprannaturali.//
I was born in the North-east of Italy, near Venice. I am an artist and an archaeologist. My art is created spontaneously, by an instinct and I don’t usually!have any particular subject for my paintings or illustrations.!Throughout my work I like to keep some elements and symbols, but the main characters are always changing, which seem to constitute a kind of foreign elements that are part of the scene, sometimes taking actions, sometimes passively watching what is happening.!I usually work directly on the canvas, with pencil or charcoal and then using either oil painting and acrylic. My work are Conceptual SurRealist, I create artworks that elicit a response and offer an opinion. Relying on concrete, and relatable, imagery to invoke ideas and concepts, rather than on the non-comital spasms of abstraction, my work continues to cut, seethe, confront and move. Not for the faint of heart, I speak an unruly truth that captures the dark, the beautiful and the appalling tenor of our modern world.e appalling tenor of our modern world.!My work speaks for itself; rich with color and character, rife with risk and daring. My subject matter as well as his selected medium run the gamut.!Hand in hand with this fascination of art at all levels, is an additional preoccupation with modern society and humanity in general. I view the world with an open mind, ingesting his surroundings and regurgitating his interpretations of our planet and its inhabitants. Whether i depict our species and ”others” as gruesomely nightmarish or worthy of reverence depends on the day.!I am strongly influenced by comic book cartoons, pulp magazine covers, biker art, tattoos, girly magazine photography, science fiction illustration, psychedelic poster art, surfer and skateboard art, and a myriad of other second class disciplines.!I draw on the images of popular culture influenced by artists from Picasso and Bacon to Robert Williams; from fine art to street art.
