Descrizione Opera / Biografia

I am originally from the Southeast coast of England immigrating to the United States at the age of nineteen. I attended university upon arrival graduating with a BA in graphic design and fine art. I worked in the design industry for ten years as a graphic designer and art director.
My current artistic style has changed dramatically from earlier years, moving from realism to an abstract artist. With abstract art I am inspired to let go of my minutely detailed realistic artwork and free myself up to feel art in a totally different manner. My present styles include the use of acrylic on some and fluid acrylic on others. The ones I present to today are my most recent creations in acrylic. There is a flowing technique to the carefully drawn out paintings.
For me it is important to create what I feel. My abstract art is an extension of myself. Full of passion and emotion: happy, sad, angry, calm, all these play a part in my creative process. The sights running through my head create the desire to paint in a more expressive form. The outcome of the painting process is titled based on how I feel about the finished piece.
I have exhibited at many venues throughout the United States and the world: including New York, Miami, Cooperstown, Janesville, Gadsden, Metuchen, and Sturgeon Bay; all in the USA, and overseas in Dharam, Nepal, New Delhi, India, London, England, and Montecarlo Di Lucca, Italy.
I have won many awards, including the Bronze Award in the Master of Art International Exhibition, London, England. Best in Show at Arts on Elston, Chicago, IL, 6th place in the American Art awards contest, and top 85 and 57 finalist in the Abstract Experimental category, out of over 7500 entries in total, for The Artist’s Magazine competitions 2014 and 2015.
