A THOUSAND EYES LOOK AT YOU

Artwork description / Biography

This work examines the insanity and ambivalence which form the ideological basis of those groups who choose to fight and die in the name of supernatural forces. The characters are deliberately drawn as anthropological throw backs, suggesting de-evolutionary behaviour, paralleling current extreme religious doctrine and belief systems. The mole like animals in the artwork symbolize the blind adherence and subjugation of its followers. Their abnormal size suggests a mutant strain, genetically malformed much in the same way that religiosity and violence has permanently disfigured its practitioners. The figures stand proudly resolute in the wreckage, morbidly celebrating the chaos that surrounds them.
