In a world full of lies where media distorts the wisdom of science and combines dishonest scholarship with political greed, so many stand by and watch the emerald planet die. While the future, shapeless and faceless, is walked by the unfed, the greedy, the dead. Incubus is the torment of one human, frustrated and lost in the hyperreality created by this daily onslaught of media-fuelled misery.
Predominantly painting in oils, Vanessa’s work is heavily influenced by emotions portrayed in those she has met in her travels, as well as her own frustrations at the materialistic desires shaping societies’ wanton disregard of the environment today.
A trained Archaeologist, Vanessa changed career after realising she could contribute much more through her art. She then trained under A.M.E. Bale Award winning artist Ryan Daffurn in 2014 and 2015, displaying considerable talent as a painter.
Her decision to become a professional artist in early 2016 has been followed by a growing swell of followers and commission requests, alongside her work repeatedly selected as finalists in Australia-wide art prizes. She can be found on Instagram as Heart_of_V
