Kianoosh Gerami is an Iranian-Dutch artist. He was born in Egypt in the city of Cairo and grew up in the capital city of Iran in Tehran. After his primary and secondary education. Kianoosh went to Tehran Art Academy. He studied painting and illustration. It soon turned out that he was a versatile talent with a great hand for drawing. In 1998 he graduated from the Art Academy. In 2004, after a bachelor, he obtained a master in Art and Illustration and graduated from the ”Art and Architecture Azad University” in Tehran.
In 2005 he received a scholarship from ”Academia di Belle Arti” in Rome and moved to Rome to study and work there. It was a fantastic opportunity for him to develop further in his arts.
In 2007 he moved to Rotterdam in the Netherlands to continue his work there. Rotterdam received him with open arms, he became a member of visual arts center of the Netherland and exhibited in the CBK Rotterdam. In 2008 he started working with film and animation and he participated in several film project as an art director and camera man.
Kianoosh had over several different personal and group exhibitions in different countries over the following years. He has exhibited in Iran, Brazil, Mexico, the United States, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands, among others. In addition to his art, Kianoosh worked freelance as a graphic designer and as an illustrator. He worked with Unicef, Antenne Rotterdam, creative, graphical Lyceum, InHolland and many others.
Since 2010, Kianoosh lives and works with his partner in Zierikzee in the province of Zeeland. He work with art and design and a graphic agency www.ekgallery.nl in 2013 the artist won the Kunstschouw Award with an installation he was seen by the jury as a promising talent. Kianoosh’s work has gradually evolved towards multimedia and he enjoys working with photography and animation film. Since 2011 he also teaches Photography, design and multimedia disciplines.

About my Artwork
My work is about people and the way they deal with their problems, the way they search for a solution to their problems or get stuck and no longer know how to find a solution. In my animation loops I have used the metaphor of stuck with your head in a black hole.
The black hole symbolize the thoughts and matters or maybe the daily life in the modern life inside people’s head head and they gravity that does not let them free.
By walking inside the installation, the audience entering in to the hidden world inside the our head .
Outside of the installation hanging 7 drawing on the wall .These drawings show us the how to get rid of or deal with the black hole.
