Descrizione Opera / Biografia

The central theme of “Polmoni in fiore” is the body, conceived as an organic container holding nature. In this painting I tried to translate into a visual expression a new organic physiognomy of the body made of narration, visual metaphors, colours and nature. There’s a women with nature inside, colors might remind of autumn, but instead there’re a constellation of small white and yellow flowers, symbol of renaissance and beauty.
This is a painting I made during quarantine. I made a live painting video on Facebook so all my friends and followers could see the creative process behind it.
I had constant thoughts about what’s going on inside our bodies and I always found surprising that inside ourselves there’s darkness, so I started to “illuminate” the inside of our body with a different light, the one of painting. I could finally take posses of my interiority and decide it’s shape. The idea of growing plants and flowers instead of biological material represented a new way of coping with sickness and it’s also a reminder that we are in turn made of nature. This painting is an homage to all the people in difficulty in this delicate moment. It’s a message of hope to the world.
