Artwork description / Biography

This architectural portrait of the historic Morgan Library in New York perfectly represents Mario Basner’s work in translating experiences through time and space. The Morgan Library & Museum began as the private library of financier Pierpont Morgan (1837–1913), one of the preeminent collectors and cultural benefactors in the United States. Mr. Morgan’s study in the back of the image likely hosted politicians, industrialists, presidents and philanthropists that collectively shaped the future of a nation. The stories that took place in this room maintain a subconscious presence and affect the experience of the audience in assessing their place in history and the inspirations leading to their chosen path.
