Descrizione Opera / Biografia
The works of the installation Artist Christiane Tureczek are reductive investigations inspired by the formal style of Brâncusi, the choice of materials of Arte Povera and the landscape and transience dialogue as pursued by landart. Tureczek’s works address existential issues relating to the co-existence of human beings and the natural Environment, inviting us to explore different cultural and historical pasts so as to gain insights in support of a shared present and future that is defined by mutual respect. White is the dominant Colour in the works of Christiane Tureczek. As the sum total of all of the Colours of light, it embodies perfection. In different cultures, white is seen as a Symbol of purity, holiness and immortality, but also standing for old age, death, and a link with the underworld and the afterlife. These are the existential questions that occupy Christiane Tureczek o her walks and discovery trips. She picks up sagas and stories, historical context and personal memories, as well as organic elements and artefacts of our civilisation and she interweaves these in her collages, reliefs and installations to create new associative images and contexts. Her main tool is fire; ist nourishing yet consuming power makes it highly simbolic, adding to Christiane Tureczek’s conceptual works the element oft ”controlled randomness”.
Christiane Tureczek was born 1968 in Austria. Her soal is connected strongly with Greece. She lives and works actually in Ticino/ Switzerland. Her works are represented in galleries an privat collections and are regularily shown on international Art Fairs.
