The sculpture ‘The Dancer’ is a homage to the Italian artist and sculptor Venanzo Crocetti and interprets a work of art by Crocetti from the middle of the 20th century in the minimalist style of Axel Becker. The contours of the dancer merge with the dynamic and minimalist form of expression and give the artwork a modern look - despite the classic material of bronze. The light reflections of the work (highly polished bronze) create an interaction with the viewer.
AXEL BECKER Biographie:
Axel Becker is a German sculptor and painter. He is working as an artist for over 20 years. Axel Becker was a master’s student of the well-known art professor and sculptor Josip Diminić. His work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums both nationally and internationally. As a member of prestigious art associations such as the Württembergischer Kunstverein in Stuttgart and the Badischer Kunstverein in Karlsruhe, he has made a name for himself in the art scene. Numerous prizes and awards also attest to the high artistic standards and recognition of his work.
Axel Becker works with various materials such as carbon, fibreglass, ceramics and bronze and has developed his personal style primarily with three-dimensional images in a minimalist style that forms an effective contrast to today’s flood of information. Simple, clear and artistically sophisticated.
