The series Strata of Memory originates from my fascination with the geological structure of our planet.
I am interested in the idea of stratification – the awareness of hidden depths where time and matter accumulate and compress.
My aim is to translate these dimensions into a visual language and to bring invisible depth to the surface.
Through a process of physical sedimentation, I work with earth, ash, oil paint, oil pastel and binding agents, building the canvas layer by layer.
The combination of natural materials with the depth of oil paint makes the tactile quality of geological formations directly perceptible.
Subtle interventions of oil pastel interrupt the dense structures, like fine cracks or traces of light within sedimented time.
Each work is a search for order within natural complexity and understands painting as a reservoir of energy, matter and time.
