Descrizione Opera / Biografia
Modern Phantasmagoria is a playful recontextualization of classic cinema, juxtaposing the elegance of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers with the raw, everyday landscapes of Milan’s suburbs. By letting these iconic figures momentarily inhabit new and unlikely settings, the work creates a contrast between past and present, glamour and mundanity.
The slightly imprecise cutout, with its flickering edges, adds to the sense of dissonance, emphasizing the artificiality of the collage while also enhancing the surreal and dreamlike quality of the piece.
